The trek is rated as Easy to Moderate. While the trails through the villages are comfortable, the ascent from Charang to Raacho Kanda requires walking on loose rocks, moraines, and steep glacier sections, making a baseline level of physical fitness necessary.

Yes. Because Charang village and the Raacho peaks lie close to the sensitive Indo-Tibetan border, an Inner Line Permit is mandatory for all trekkers. Raacho Trekkers will handle all paperwork, permit arrangements, and en-route clearances for your group.

The ideal window for this trek is from April to October. During these months, the Kinnaur region experiences favorable weather, the trails are generally clear of heavy winter snow blocks, and the views of the Phawrang and Raacho peaks are crisp.

A major highlight of this trek is exploring the ancient Charang village (situated at 3,400 meters) and trekking to the historic Rangrik Tungma Monastery. Believed to be roughly 2,000 years old, this mud-and-wood monastery offers a beautiful glimpse into local spiritual traditions.
