The route is long (spanning 10 days) and features steep, taxing glacial climbs, particularly on Day 6 leading up to the Larsa base and Day 7 during the high pass crossing to Ansa Sumdo. Trekkers should have good cardiovascular endurance and prior high-altitude trekking experience before attempting this route.

  • The apex of this journey is the Larsa We Pass, which sits at a maximum altitude of 5,275 meters (17,306 feet). Trekkers will cross this pass on Day 7 of the itinerary as they transition between the Kinnaur and Spiti valley regions.

  • The trek runs for 10 days and 9 nights, serving as an incredible offbeat crossover route. It begins with a drive from Shimla up to Kalpa and Asrang in Kinnaur, transitions through remote glacial camps, crosses the pass into the Pin Valley of Spiti, and concludes with a drive back to Manali via Kaza.
